Oppo K15s Debuts With a Massive 8,000mAh Battery, AMOLED Display, and 5G Support
Oppo has added a new model to its K15 lineup with the launch of the Oppo K15s, a mid-range smartphone focused on long battery life, a smooth display, and everyday 5G performance. The K15 series already includes models such as the Oppo K15, K15 Pro, and K15 Pro Plus, and the new K15s arrives as a more affordable option with a few standout features.
The biggest highlight of the Oppo K15s is its huge 8,000mAh battery. For users who want a phone that can last through heavy daily use, streaming, social media, navigation, gaming, and messaging, this battery capacity is one of the device’s strongest selling points. Oppo has also included 45W wired charging, allowing the large battery to recharge faster than typical entry-level or budget phones. However, wireless charging is not included.
On the front, the Oppo K15s features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,372 x 1,080 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling, animations, and supported games feel smoother. The combination of AMOLED technology and a high refresh rate gives the phone an appealing display setup for its price range.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max chipset. It is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Oppo is also offering microSD card expansion, giving users an easy way to add more storage for photos, videos, apps, and files.
For cameras, the Oppo K15s keeps things simple. It has a single 50MP rear camera with an f/1.9 aperture. Video recording on the rear camera goes up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera for video calls, selfies, and face unlock.
Connectivity features include dual-SIM 5G, NFC, and Wi-Fi 5. The phone measures 8.8mm thick and weighs around 205 grams, which is reasonable considering the large battery inside.
The Oppo K15s appears to share similarities with the Oppo A7 Pro sold in China, though it arrives with different color options and memory configurations. The K15s is available in Wind Trace Purple and Shadow Grey. The base version comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the higher-end model includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
As for pricing, the Oppo K15s starts at CNY 1,699, which is approximately $253, for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model is listed at CNY 1,999, or around $298.
With its 8,000mAh battery, AMOLED 120Hz display, 5G support, expandable storage, and competitive pricing, the Oppo K15s could appeal to buyers looking for a practical mid-range smartphone with excellent battery endurance.
