Oppo Unveils Next-Gen Smartwatch, Confirms Global Debut

Oppo is giving fans a clearer look at its next premium smartwatch, the Oppo Watch X3, and the company is positioning it as a major new wearable release alongside its upcoming foldable phone.

After teasing the Watch X3 in two recent videos, Oppo has now confirmed a full launch event set for March 17, where the smartwatch will debut at the same time as the Find N6. While Oppo’s announcements have so far appeared only on its Chinese social channels, the wording and timing strongly suggest the Watch X3 is planned for a global premiere on the same date—good news for anyone waiting for Oppo’s next flagship smartwatch outside China.

One of the biggest upgrades appears to be a slimmer, lighter design. Oppo says the Watch X3 is 16% lighter and 6.4% thinner than the Watch X2. For reference, the Watch X2 weighs 49.7 grams and measures 11.8 mm thick, so the new model should feel noticeably more comfortable on the wrist, especially for all-day wear and sleep tracking.

Durability and materials are also getting a serious boost. Oppo confirms the Watch X3 carries an IP69 rating and features an all-titanium build, signaling a more rugged, premium direction aimed at users who want a luxury finish without sacrificing toughness. The company also mentions a new bamboo strap, which could appeal to buyers looking for something more distinctive than the usual silicone or standard leather options.

There are still a few unanswered questions ahead of the March 17 launch. Oppo hasn’t yet said whether the Watch X3 will differ between Chinese and global versions, or what features might be exclusive to certain regions. However, based on how the Watch X2 was handled previously, the global version of the Watch X3 is expected to ship with Wear OS—important for buyers who want broader app support and tighter integration with Android phones.

Another point to watch is how Oppo positions the Watch X3 internationally. It remains unclear whether it will effectively serve as the next step for the OnePlus smartwatch line in some markets, or whether it will stay strictly under Oppo branding worldwide. Either way, with a thinner body, lighter weight, titanium construction, IP69 certification, and a globally timed launch, the Oppo Watch X3 is shaping up to be one of the most notable smartwatch releases to watch this March.
