Oppo Pad 5 Pro Unveiled: A New Flagship Tablet Takes Center Stage

Oppo is getting ready to expand its tablet lineup with two new models arriving in China on April 21: the Oppo Pad 5 Pro and the Oppo Pad Mini. The Pad Mini is expected to target buyers who want a more compact, premium tablet experience, while the Oppo Pad 5 Pro is positioned as the brand’s next flagship, following last year’s Pad 4 Pro.

Ahead of launch, Oppo has officially previewed the Oppo Pad 5 Pro’s design, colors, and storage options. Visually, it keeps a familiar look with a clean rear panel and a pill-shaped camera module, a style that closely mirrors the previous generation. Buyers will be able to choose from three finishes: Mocha Brown, Dawn Gold, and Monet Purple.

Oppo is also offering a wide range of memory configurations for the Pad 5 Pro, which should help it appeal to both everyday users and power users. The tablet is expected to be sold in four variants: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, and a top-end 16GB RAM with 512GB storage.

While Oppo hasn’t confirmed the full spec sheet yet, early leaks have started to paint a clearer picture of what the Oppo Pad 5 Pro could deliver. The standout detail is a rumored 13.2-inch LCD display, which would place it firmly in the large-screen tablet category—ideal for multitasking, split-screen productivity, drawing, and streaming.

Performance could be a major selling point as well. The Oppo Pad 5 Pro is rumored to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, indicating flagship-level speed for demanding apps, high-end gaming, and heavy multitasking. Battery life may also see a boost, with leaks pointing to a 13,380mAh battery paired with 67W fast charging. For context, the earlier Pad 4 Pro reportedly came with a 12,140mAh battery, so this would be a meaningful increase if accurate.

Portability hasn’t been ignored, despite the large display. The tablet is said to measure just 5.94mm thin and weigh around 672 grams, suggesting Oppo is aiming for a sleek premium build. Audio may be another highlight, with an eight-speaker setup rumored—something that could make a noticeable difference for movies, games, and video calls.

On the camera side, the Oppo Pad 5 Pro is expected to include a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, which should be sufficient for document scanning, casual photos, and clear video conferencing.

With an official launch date set for April 21, more confirmed details about the Oppo Pad 5 Pro and the Oppo Pad Mini should arrive soon, including final specifications, features, and pricing.
