In the competitive world of mobile chipsets, the AnTuTu performance rankings for January 2024 have seen a notable shift in the balance of power. The Oppo Find X7 has emerged as the leader of the pack, clinching the top spot on the charts and showcasing the prowess of MediaTek’s processors over the established Qualcomm Snapdragon lineup.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra found in the Redmi K70E has performed remarkably well, scoring an impressive 1.38 million points on the benchmarking platform. This puts the K70E approximately 20% ahead of its nearest rival, the Realme GT Neo5 SE, which is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset.
This gap can be attributed to the advanced ARM Cortex-A715 performance cores integrated into the MediaTek chipset, which seem to offer superior CPU performance compared to the combination of one ARM Cortex-X1 and three Cortex-A710 cores featured in the competition.
The rankings reveal that apart from the two smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor, the best-performing devices are those that incorporate MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 or 8200 chipsets. For consumers in the midrange market, devices such as the Oppo Reno11 5G, the Redmi K60E, or the Realme GT Neo 3 are certainly options to consider for their impressive performance metrics.
This shake-up in the hierarchy suggests that MediaTek is successfully challenging Qualcomm’s dominance in the high-end smartphone chipset arena, potentially reshaping consumer choices when it comes to performance-oriented mobile devices.
