OnePlus Teases Turbo 6 Series in First Official Preview Ahead of January 2026 Debut

OnePlus has officially pulled back the curtain on its new Turbo lineup, confirming a China launch event set for January 08, 2026. Ahead of the debut, the company has shared fresh photos and a teaser video that offer a clearer look at the first two models and hint at several headline features that could put these phones on the radar for power users.

The Turbo series will start with two devices: the OnePlus Turbo 6 and the OnePlus Turbo 6V. OnePlus has confirmed that both phones will be offered in three different color options at launch, giving buyers a bit more choice right out of the gate. Visually, the new Turbo 6 series leans into a modern design with rounded corners, and at least one color of the Turbo 6 appears to feature a striking 3D holographic-style engraving across the back panel, adding a more distinctive, “special edition” feel compared to typical midrange designs.

While OnePlus hasn’t spelled out every detail on both phones yet, the early signals suggest the Turbo 6 will be the more premium, higher-performance option. In the official video, the non-V OnePlus Turbo 6 is indicated to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Meanwhile, the Turbo 6V is widely expected to use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, positioning it as the more affordable alternative in the lineup.

The teaser also spotlights what could be one of the biggest talking points of the entire Turbo 6 series: a massive 9,000 mAh battery. That kind of battery capacity would be a major draw for anyone prioritizing long endurance for gaming, streaming, travel, or simply avoiding daily charging. However, OnePlus hasn’t clarified whether the 9,000 mAh cell is included in both the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V, or if it’s exclusive to one model.

Display performance is another area being teased. OnePlus highlights a smooth 165 Hz refresh rate, which would appeal to gamers and users who want ultra-fluid scrolling and animations. That said, current expectations point to the 165 Hz panel being reserved for the Turbo 6, while the Turbo 6V is rumored to come with a 144 Hz display instead—still fast, but a clear step down if those specs hold true.

With the launch date now locked in for January 08, 2026, the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V are shaping up to be performance-focused phones designed to stand out through high refresh rate screens, big battery ambitions, and distinct styling. There’s also growing speculation that these models could later arrive outside China under the OnePlus Nord branding, which could make them especially interesting for global buyers looking for flagship-like speed without flagship pricing.
