The OnePlus Nord 4 is a shining example of this shift, proving its worth right from the first glance. Boasting a case meticulously milled from a single block of aluminum, the device radiates durability and luxury—a surprising feat for a smartphone priced under 500 Euros (~$554) in its base storage variant.
With three distinct color options, there’s a shade for every taste. Opt for the dark gray version with its matte back for a classic look. Want something that turns heads? The metallic version with a rippled back is for you. If vibrant hues are more your style, the green version that we tested adds a splash of color.
The phone’s AMOLED display shines with its ultra-thin bezels and high resolution. Its brightness, peaking at over 1,100 cd/m², means it’s perfect for HDR content, even in bright environments.
The OnePlus Nord 4 introduces a new processor—with some reservations. While the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 performs well within its class, it doesn’t particularly stand out. Extended use reveals some throttling issues, a familiar gripe for OnePlus fans who have noticed cooling problems in previous models.
On a brighter note, the graphics unit excels, delivering impressive gaming performance. High frame rates were the norm in our tests: we hit nearly 90 fps in PUBG Mobile by lowering the detail settings. Genshin Impact ran smoothly at 58 fps, and even on high settings, the game managed around 40 fps.
However, the OnePlus Nord 4 is not without its shortcomings. It lacks wireless charging and eSIM support, and only supports WiFi 6, foregoing the latest WLAN standard. Additionally, the USB-2.0 port is disappointingly slow.
