OnePlus 15s global launch now looks uncertain, despite the 15T already arriving in China
OnePlus fans hoping for a new compact flagship outside China may have to wait longer than expected. The OnePlus 15T has already launched in China as the successor to the OnePlus 13T, but fresh rumors suggest that its global version, expected to arrive as the OnePlus 15s, may not be released after all.
The situation is notable because OnePlus followed a similar strategy last year. The OnePlus 13T debuted in China in April 2025 as a smaller flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It later reached international markets under the OnePlus 13s name, giving global buyers a rare compact Android flagship option.
This year, however, things may be different.
The OnePlus 15T launched in China in March 2026 with a starting price of CNY 4,899, which is roughly $723. On paper, it looks like a strong upgrade for users who want flagship performance in a smaller form factor. The phone features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a super-smooth 165Hz refresh rate, making it one of the fastest displays in its category.
Like the regular OnePlus 15, the compact 15T is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It also includes a dual rear camera system led by a 50MP sensor and packs a large 7,500mAh battery, which is especially impressive for a phone with a compact design.
Despite these appealing specifications, the global launch of the OnePlus 15s remains in doubt. Tipster Yogesh Brar has claimed that the OnePlus 15s may not launch internationally. He also indicated that the next-generation OnePlus 16 has not yet been finalized for the Indian market.
This has added to growing uncertainty around OnePlus’ global flagship strategy. Recent reports have suggested that the company may be reducing its presence in some markets, although it continues to introduce new devices in India. One example is the upcoming budget-focused OnePlus N6, which is expected to feature a massive 8,000mAh battery.
For now, OnePlus has not officially confirmed whether the OnePlus 15s will launch outside China. The company has also not shared clear details about its future flagship release plans for international markets.
If the OnePlus 15s is skipped globally, it would be disappointing news for buyers looking for a smaller premium Android phone with top-tier hardware. Compact flagships have become increasingly rare, and the OnePlus 15T’s combination of a high-refresh AMOLED screen, powerful Snapdragon chipset, large battery, and 50MP camera setup could have made it a strong option in markets beyond China.
Until OnePlus makes an official announcement, the global fate of the OnePlus 15s remains uncertain. For now, the OnePlus 15T appears to be a China-only compact flagship, while international users may need to wait and see whether OnePlus changes its plans.
