Months after their launch, AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs remain absent from the Steam Hardware Survey, sparking curiosity about their market traction. Meanwhile, NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti has already captured a 0.21% share, despite being newer than AMD’s RX 9070 series.
The latest Steam Hardware Survey provides intriguing insights into the GPU landscape, though it only reflects data from participating users. This means the survey isn’t a definitive snapshot of the market but still offers a glimpse into current trends.
NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series appears to be more prevalent compared to AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series. NVIDIA’s lineup, including models like the RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti, is more extensive, while AMD currently offers only the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, with plans to release the RX 9060 XT soon.
Despite the RX 9070 series being available for three months, it hasn’t appeared in the latest surveys. This absence raises questions about its popularity relative to NVIDIA’s offerings. Although stores report decent sales, precise figures remain elusive.
It’s unlikely that the RX 9070 series falls into the 9.32% “Other” category due to its size. Meanwhile, the combined share of RTX 50 series GPUs is nearing 2%. Interestingly, the RTX 5090 is also not showing up, possibly due to factors like pricing or availability.
The RX 9070 series has missed three consecutive surveys since its launch, suggesting that while it’s not the sole indicator of popularity, its continued absence is noteworthy.
