NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series Gains Momentum in Steam Hardware Survey with 3.69% Share

Steam has just published its latest Hardware Survey, revealing a significant presence for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series. This lineup has been making waves since its release, showing noteworthy growth in user adoption.

The RTX 50 series, officially launching in late January and becoming widely available by February, has seen its entire lineup, except the soon-to-debut RTX 5050, appear on the survey. Specifically, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is leading the charge with a nearly 1% share gained in just three months—a testament to its appeal among gamers seeking a robust gaming PC setup.

Other GPUs from the series, like the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti, are also climbing steadily. Here are the latest share percentages since their first appearances:

– GeForce RTX 5070: 0.99% (starting at 0.38% in April)
– GeForce RTX 5080: 0.57% (starting at 0.20% in March)
– GeForce RTX 5070 Ti: 0.55% (starting at 0.28% in April)
– GeForce RTX 5060 Ti: 0.41% (starting at 0.21% in May)
– GeForce RTX 5060: 0.34%
– GeForce RTX 5090: 0.19%

Notably absent from the survey are the AMD Radeon RX 9000 “RDNA 4” GPUs and Intel’s Arc B-series, which haven’t registered enough sales to appear just yet. However, NVIDIA continues to dominate the market, claiming over 90% market share recently.

Meanwhile, on the CPU front, AMD is making gains, now capturing 39.65% of the market compared to Intel’s 60.27%. The ongoing popularity of AMD’s Ryzen CPUs has been a key factor, even as Intel faces challenges with its latest CPU generations and underwhelming gaming performance from Arrow Lake.

Overall, these trends highlight the shifting dynamics in the PC hardware market, with NVIDIA and AMD both playing significant roles in shaping the future of gaming technology.
