The Home Assistant 2025.7 update has arrived, continuing its trend of monthly enhancements for this open-source smart home automation platform. Following the 2025.6 release, which introduced a Bluetooth connection graph, this version debuts exciting features aimed at improving user interaction and control.
One standout feature is the new Ask Question action, transforming the Assist voice assistant into a more interactive and conversational tool. Now, rather than waiting for user prompts, Assist can initiate conversations. For example, it might alert you to impending hot weather and suggest closing the shutters.
The Area card has also been redesigned to integrate seamlessly with the Sections dashboard. This update provides users with both compact and detailed views, akin to the Tile card, and enhances the Areas dashboard overview, making it simpler to manage and control devices in various rooms remotely.
Integrations have been streamlined with sub-entries, allowing for quicker setups with identical authentication credentials, ideal for additional calendars or AI agents. Current supported integrations include Anthropic, Google Generative AI, MQTT, Ollama, OpenAI Conversation, and Telegram Bot. Additionally, the integration page received a stylish refresh.
New integrations introduced in this update feature Altruist air quality sensor, PlayStation Network, Vegetronix VegeHub, and Tilt Pi wireless brewing hydrometer and thermometer.
