NVIDIA Unveils Expansive Taiwan HQ as CEO Jensen Huang Highlights Need for More Space

NVIDIA’s CEO, Jensen Huang, has shed light on the company’s decision to expand its presence in Taiwan with the new “Constellation” office. The primary reason? More space and chairs for their growing team.

Jensen emphasized Taiwan’s critical role in NVIDIA’s journey, considering it a second home after the US. During his keynote at Computex, he confirmed the company’s long-standing bond with Taiwan and its local partners, highlighting the country’s significant importance in NVIDIA’s global operations.

“We’ve been rooted in Taiwan for 30 years,” Huang noted humorously, underscoring the need for a larger office to accommodate more employees comfortably. “I just need a bigger building. It’s not international news; we need more chairs.”

Despite some geopolitical tensions affecting business dynamics, particularly with the focus on TSMC’s operations in the US, the new Taiwanese headquarters, named “Constellation,” will be situated at the Beitou Shilin Science Park. This location spans 3.89 hectares, with development plans set to commence promptly.

While Huang dismisses any geopolitical motivations behind the new HQ, it underscores the importance of maintaining a robust presence in Taiwan amidst its complex relations with China. Huang insists that Taiwan’s stability is crucial to global manufacturing stability.

In addition to the headquarters, NVIDIA plans to build a Blackwell-powered AI supercomputer in collaboration with Foxconn and TSMC, further cementing their investment in the region. This commitment not only benefits NVIDIA but also bolsters Taiwan’s role in global technological advancements.
