NVIDIA Streamlines DLSS 3.8.10 with Streamlined Profiles and Compact DLLs

NVIDIA has rolled out its latest DLSS 3.8.10 update, bringing significant changes aimed at enhancing user experience. The update, introduced through the GeForce 566.14 driver, simplifies the available DLSS profiles by reducing them from four to just two. This change comes as the company seeks to streamline the user experience while maintaining performance quality.

Previously, users could choose between four preset profiles for different performance modes:

1. Preset A focused on Performance, Balanced, and Quality modes and was designed to combat ghosting.
2. Preset B catered to Ultra Performance mode, similar to A but for higher output.
3. Preset C was suited for fast-paced games, leveraging current frame information.
4. Preset D prioritized image stability across Performance, Balanced, and Quality modes.

With the current update, NVIDIA has consolidated these into two profiles:

– Preset E, serving the Performance, Balanced, and Quality modes, offers the benefits originally seen in Preset D.
– Preset F is now the default for Ultra Performance and DLAA modes.

This streamlining not only removes redundancy but also manages to significantly reduce the size of the DLL file, reportedly down by nearly half. While the update does not greatly impact overall DLSS performance, the reduced profiles mean fewer options for system tweaks, a change some experts might find limiting. Nevertheless, this move demonstrates NVIDIA’s commitment to improving efficiency and user satisfaction.
