NVIDIA is gearing up to make waves in the mainstream gaming world with the upcoming launch of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPUs. These highly anticipated graphics cards are set to cater to avid gamers and will be available in two versions: a robust 16 GB variant and a more cost-effective 8 GB option.
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti seeks to fill the gap in the mid-range market, priced competitively between $400 and $500. This latest offering from NVIDIA, following the release of the 5070, will likely draw interest from gamers looking for high performance without breaking the bank.
Under the hood, the RTX 5060 Ti is built on the PG152 board, featuring the GB206 GPU core, and employs a dual version strategy: “SKU 10” and “SKU 15.” The primary difference between these models lies in memory capacity—the former flaunts a hefty 16 GB, while the latter offers a respectable 8 GB.
Both versions of these graphics cards share a 128-bit memory bus interface, echoing its predecessor, the RTX 4060 Ti. Equipped with GDDR7 memory, they promise impressive speeds of up to 28 Gbps, translating to a significant bandwidth of 448 GB/s. This marks a notable 55% improvement over the RTX 4060 Ti and a 65% increase compared to the RTX 4060. The advanced memory compression techniques attributed to Blackwell will also enhance performance, compensating for the narrower bus interface.
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti models come with a power efficiency boost, set to a 180W TBP— a modest increase from the RTX 4060 Ti’s counterparts. They will accommodate both 8-pin and 12V-2×6 connectors, providing flexibility based on system requirements.
The official debut for the 16 GB model is scheduled for the latter half of March, with the 8 GB version following closely behind in early April. This rollout was subject to delays due to supply chain challenges but is eagerly anticipated by the market.
As of now, pricing details remain sparse, although expectations align with the existing RTX 4060 Ti price bracket. These new cards are also poised to face off against AMD’s RDNA 4-based RX 9000 GPUs, such as the RX 9060 series, setting the scene for an exciting showdown in the GPU arena.
