NVIDIA and AMD Set to Unveil New “Mid-Tier” Graphics Cards in May: Anticipated Release of GeForce RTX 5060 8GB and Radeon RX 9060 XT

NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up for an exciting showdown this May as they both prepare to launch their budget-friendly GPUs, targeting dominance in the mainstream segment.

NVIDIA is set to introduce the GeForce RTX 5060 by May 19. This new addition boasts an 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM configuration that runs at an impressive 28 Gbps on a 128-bit memory bus. With a significant 35W TDP increase compared to the RTX 4060, it promises more power. Highlights of the RTX 5060 include a 25% boost in CUDA Cores, unchanged memory capacity, faster GDDR7 memory offering 28 Gbps, a 64% increase in bandwidth, and a 30% higher power rating.

Meanwhile, AMD is also stepping up with the Radeon RX 9060 XT, expected to be unveiled at Computex on May 21. Retail availability might extend into June. This GPU will feature the Navi 44 die on a 128-bit bus with both 8GB and 16GB configurations, akin to NVIDIA’s offerings. The RX 9060 XT includes 2,048 SPs, half of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, and clocks configured at 2620 MHz with boost clocks at 3230 MHz. For gamers seeking 1080p/2K performance, this GPU looks set to deliver impressive results.

As the mid-end GPU market heats up, May is shaping up to be an important month for tech enthusiasts watching NVIDIA and AMD compete for prominence. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from Computex.
