Notion Debuts AI Agents to Turbocharge Data Insights and Automate Workflows

Notion just unveiled its first AI agent at the Make with Notion event, and it’s designed to take on real work across your workspace—not just summarize it. Drawing on all your pages and databases as context, the agent can automatically generate meeting notes and analysis, build competitor evaluation reports, and even give feedback on landing pages while updating them on the spot.

This new agent doesn’t just read information—it creates and maintains it. It can spin up new pages and databases or update existing ones with fresh data, properties, and views. You can even trigger it from connected tools. For example, ask it to assemble a bug-tracking dashboard by pulling issues from Slack, email, and Google Drive, then organize the results in a Notion database ready for your team.

Unlike earlier features that focused on search and summarization, the agent supports complex, multi-step workflows powered by agentic AI. According to the company, it can run a task for up to 20 minutes and work across hundreds of pages, stitching together context and actions so you don’t have to.

To keep it aligned with your team’s preferences, you can set up a profile page that teaches the agent how to work. Define how it should reference sources, the style and structure of its output, and exactly where to post updates and final results. You can also ask it to remember important preferences or decisions. Those memories live on the profile page, where you can edit or delete them at any time.

In demos, the agent handled tasks like:
– Reviewing and improving landing pages, then pushing updates
– Creating a restaurant tracker with ratings and tags
– Turning raw meeting notes into a structured analysis
– Compiling a competition analysis report with sources and takeaways

Right now, you trigger actions manually. But customizable agents that run on schedules or event-based triggers are on the roadmap. A template library is also coming, letting you grab ready-made agent setups for common workflows.

The launch caps a steady push into connected productivity. Over the past two years, the platform has added a calendar app, a Gmail client, a meeting notetaker, and enterprise search to bring data from different sources into one place—key building blocks for robust automations. It arrives as other enterprise knowledge and productivity tools, including options from Salesforce, Fireflies, and Read AI, roll out their own agents to extract insights and keep information up to date.

What this means in practice is simple: fewer tabs, fewer manual updates, and more time spent on strategy. Whether you’re managing sprints, prepping for quarterly reviews, or refining product marketing, Notion’s AI agent is built to organize, analyze, and act across your entire workspace.
