Nothing Phone 4b teased as a new affordable smartphone with a single rear camera
Nothing appears to be preparing a fresh addition to its smartphone lineup, and all signs point to a new budget-friendly model called the Nothing Phone 4b. The company has started teasing the device through short videos on X, strongly hinting that a more affordable alternative to the Nothing Phone 4a is on the way.
The teasers focus heavily on a lowercase “b,” making the branding hard to miss. In one clip, a phone schematic is shown alongside a 4B pencil, further suggesting that the upcoming model will launch under the Nothing Phone 4b name.
The most interesting detail from the teaser is the phone’s design. The Nothing Phone 4b appears to feature a partially transparent rear panel, keeping the brand’s recognizable visual identity intact. However, unlike higher-end Nothing phones, the device seems to include only one rear camera. That choice strongly suggests this model is being positioned as a more affordable mid-range smartphone, with simplified hardware to help keep the price lower.
Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has also explained how the company’s naming system works. The number represents the current generation of Nothing phones, while the letter identifies the product tier within that generation. In this case, “4” points to the fourth-generation lineup, while “b” appears to signal a new, more accessible segment.
According to this structure, the “a” series sits below the flagship models but still offers a stronger feature set. The new “b” series is expected to sit beneath the “a” range, giving buyers a cheaper entry point into the Nothing ecosystem.
This move could help Nothing reach a wider audience, especially as demand grows for stylish yet affordable Android phones. A lower-priced Nothing Phone 4b with a transparent design, clean software experience, and simplified camera setup could appeal to users who want the brand’s signature look without paying flagship-level prices.
Nothing has not yet confirmed the official launch date or pricing for the Phone 4b. However, the company typically moves quickly from teaser campaigns to product announcements, so more details may arrive within the next few weeks.
If the teaser is accurate, the Nothing Phone 4b could become one of the brand’s most important releases yet, opening the door to a new budget smartphone series while keeping the distinctive design language that helped Nothing stand out in the crowded mobile market.
