Nothing Phone (2a) Design Unveiled as Leaker Retracts Misleading Image

The Nothing Phone (2a), anticipated as a significant improvement from its predecessor the Phone (1), has had its design teased by the company in an official capacity. The upcoming device is expected to retain the design language that characterizes Nothing’s products, diverging from an earlier inaccurate portrayal by a notable leaker.

Nothing has begun to gradually reveal the design details of its upcoming Phone (2a), simultaneously refuting an earlier image that was circulated online. Initially shared by the leak source @OnLeaks, the image was claimed to depict the new model. However, Nothing’s revelations have led to @OnLeaks retracting their initial claim, stating, “Seems like my #Nothing Phone 2a leak was wrong… THIS actually ISN’T the #NothingPhone2a! (very fake look through non-official press render) Sorry…”

Contrary to the earlier image suggesting a subtly curved back panel, Nothing has suggested that the Phone (2a) will feature a flat back panel. Design continuity seems important to the brand, as indications are that the familiar translucent back and chamfered mid-frame from previous models will be maintained. Moreover, the new device is likely to be available in the white colour option, which has been a staple for Nothing’s smartphones.

If other leaks hold true, the Phone (2a)’s design will be refreshed with a centrally positioned rear camera setup, marking a departure from the camera placements on the currently available Phone (1) and Phone (2). Rumored specifications circulating the internet include a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, a 120 Hz AMOLED Display, and a suite of high-megapixel cameras.

The announcement and full presentation of the Nothing Phone (2a) are expected to take place later this month at MWC 2024, as previously confirmed by the company towards the end of the preceding year. This reveal is highly anticipated as it will provide a clearer picture of the specifications and advancements made over the Phone (1).

Consumers and tech enthusiasts are invited to stay connected with updates regarding the Nothing Phone (2a) and join in discussions across social media platforms as the release date approaches.
