The Nothing Phone (3) launched on July 1, stirring a mix of reactions. While it stays true to Nothing’s unique design, questions arise about its flagship status due to changes like replacing the Glyph lighting system with a Glyph Matrix display. Recent leaks suggest that Nothing’s Pro models aren’t meeting expectations, prompting the company to consider a wider range of budget options.
Well-known leaker Yogesh Brar hinted on social media that Nothing may be developing ‘Lite’ or ‘T’ branded phones because the Pro line isn’t hitting the mark. These ‘Lite’ versions are often budget-friendly alternatives, similar to how OnePlus brands its ‘T’ models. Although Nothing already offers budget options under the ‘a’ branding, a broader lineup might be in the works.
The Nothing Phone (3) marks the company’s more assertive entry into the US market, following the limited beta availability of the Nothing Phone (1) and the broader release of the Phone (2) in the US and Canada. With a price point of $800, the Phone (3) competes with heavyweights like the Galaxy S25 and the iPhone 16, both featuring genuine flagship capabilities.
In terms of budget offerings, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro are well-regarded, priced at $379 and $459 respectively. The rumored ‘Lite’ and ‘T’ models could either be simplified versions of the Phone (3) or might represent a shift from the ‘a’ series, though specifics remain unclear.
It’s essential to note that these developments are based on leaks and speculation, so they should be taken with caution. Nothing has not officially shared plans for expanding its lineup in this way.
