Nitecore Trailsight Debuts as a Compact Flashlight for Night Runners and Trail Adventures
Nitecore has introduced the Trailsight, a new compact flashlight designed for runners who need extra visibility after dark. Rather than replacing a headlamp, the Trailsight is intended to work as a secondary light source, helping runners spot trail markers, changes in terrain, roots, rocks, and other obstacles that can be harder to see during nighttime runs.
The new Nitecore Trailsight delivers up to 1,200 lumens and offers a maximum beam distance of 530 meters, making it powerful enough for open trails, wooded paths, and low-light outdoor routes. At its highest output, the flashlight can run for up to 5 hours, giving runners a strong beam for demanding night sessions.
For longer runs, the medium setting may be the most practical option. At 400 lumens, the Trailsight provides up to 14 hours of battery life with a beam distance of around 290 meters. This mode is aimed at endurance runners, hikers, and outdoor users who need a balance between brightness and runtime.
There is also a low-power mode rated at 150 lumens, extending battery life to approximately 46 hours while still reaching up to 170 meters. This setting could be useful for slower-paced activities, emergency backup lighting, camping, or multi-day outdoor use.
The flashlight uses an internal 18650 battery, which can be replaced when needed. It is also compatible with Nitecore’s NL1840AW all-weather battery, designed to operate in extremely cold environments down to -40 °C. That makes the Trailsight a practical option for winter running, mountain routes, and harsh outdoor conditions.
Despite its powerful beam, the Trailsight remains portable. It weighs 121 grams and measures 12.8 cm in length, making it easy to carry during a run without adding much bulk. Its IP68 rating also means it is protected against dust and water, an important feature for trail runners who may face rain, mud, snow, or unpredictable weather.
Nitecore is offering the Trailsight in four color options. The official price is listed at $69.95.
With its long beam range, replaceable battery, rugged protection, and multiple brightness modes, the Nitecore Trailsight is positioned as a versatile flashlight for trail running, night hiking, and outdoor safety. For runners who already use a headlamp but want better depth perception and improved trail visibility, this compact light could become a useful addition to their night running gear.
