Nintendo Expands Virtual Boy Library on Switch Online With Five More Classic Games
Nintendo is continuing to grow its Virtual Boy game lineup for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, adding five more retro titles to the service. The latest update gives fans another reason to revisit Nintendo’s unusual 1995 red-and-black 3D system, especially with the Virtual Boy experience now tied to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
The newly added Virtual Boy games are:
V-Tetris
Jack Bros.
Space Invaders Virtual Collection
Virtual Bowling
Vertical Force
These titles join the expanding Virtual Boy catalog available through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Nintendo previously confirmed that the Virtual Boy library would roll out gradually rather than arrive all at once. At launch, only seven games were available, but the company promised more releases throughout 2026.
This latest batch follows the addition of Mario’s Tennis and Mario Clash in March, bringing the library closer to the full list of titles Nintendo has planned for the year. For longtime Nintendo fans and retro gaming collectors, the update is a notable one, as several Virtual Boy games have become difficult to experience on original hardware.
Two more Virtual Boy titles are still expected to arrive later in 2026: Zero Racers and D-Hopper. Both games were originally developed for the Virtual Boy in the mid-1990s but were never officially released for the system. Zero Racers is especially interesting because it is connected to the F-Zero series, making its upcoming release a rare piece of Nintendo history finally becoming playable.
The Virtual Boy remains one of Nintendo’s most curious consoles. Although it had a short lifespan and a small game library, it has gained a cult following over the years thanks to its unique 3D visuals and experimental design. By bringing these games to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, Nintendo is giving modern players a chance to explore a strange but memorable chapter of its gaming legacy.
With classic titles like Space Invaders Virtual Collection, Jack Bros., and V-Tetris now available, the Virtual Boy library is becoming more appealing for subscribers who enjoy retro Nintendo games. As more titles arrive, the service continues to strengthen its collection of classic gaming experiences across multiple Nintendo generations.
