Nintendo is officially selling a new special-edition controller for Switch 2 owners, and it’s designed to pair perfectly with Capcom’s latest entry in the series, Resident Evil Requiem. With the game now available on multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Resident Evil Requiem Edition has also arrived as a themed accessory for fans who want their setup to match the horror atmosphere.
The special edition controller is priced at $99.99, which makes it $10 more expensive than the standard Switch 2 Pro Controller. It’s being offered through Nintendo’s own store as well as major third-party retailers, giving buyers a few options depending on availability and regional stock.
What you’re paying extra for here is the design. The Resident Evil Requiem Edition comes in a gunmetal black finish with a slightly glossy look, and the faceplate is decorated with newspaper-style articles pulled from the game’s world. It also tweaks a small but noticeable detail compared to the regular model: the shoulder buttons are black on this edition, while the standard controller uses a black body with light gray shoulder buttons.
Beyond cosmetics, though, it’s the same controller Switch 2 players already know. The Resident Evil Requiem Edition includes HD Rumble 2, Amiibo support, motion controls, the dedicated C Button for GameChat, an audio jack for wired headsets, and programmable GL and GR back buttons. In other words, you’re not getting new performance features—just a premium look inspired by Resident Evil Requiem, plus the higher price tag that often comes with limited or themed Nintendo hardware.
For collectors, Resident Evil fans, or anyone who likes special-edition Nintendo accessories, this controller is a straightforward choice: standard Switch 2 Pro Controller functionality wrapped in a darker, game-themed finish timed to one of the year’s biggest horror releases.
