Corsair Cove Surprises on Steam as Splatoon Raiders Dominates Console Charts in Germany
Germany’s latest gaming charts have delivered a few unexpected twists, with new releases shaking up both PC and console rankings. While Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced remains a major name across platforms, a new pirate-themed city builder is stealing attention on Steam.
Corsair Cove, developed by German studio Limbic Entertainment, has made a strong debut in the digital PC charts. The strategy game has climbed to second place on Steam in Germany, sitting just behind the ever-popular Counter-Strike 2. Its impressive launch puts it ahead of several major releases, including Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which has slipped to sixth place in the German Steam ranking.
The success of Corsair Cove is especially notable because it offers a different take on pirate gaming. Instead of focusing on naval combat or action-heavy adventures, the game challenges players to build and manage pirate settlements. Its vertical city-building mechanics, strategic depth, and strong early player reviews appear to be helping it stand out in a competitive market.
Another fresh release, Mistfall Hunter, has also made a strong impact. The dark fantasy PvPvE extraction RPG entered the Steam chart in third place. With its focus on melee combat, loot gathering, and high-risk escape gameplay, Mistfall Hunter seems to have quickly found an audience among players looking for a tougher and more intense online experience.
On consoles, Nintendo is enjoying a major win with Splatoon Raiders. The colorful shooter has launched at No. 1 on Nintendo Switch 2 in Germany and has also taken the top spot in the overall cross-platform retail ranking. Designed with solo players and smaller teams in mind, the spin-off appears to be driving strong interest in Nintendo’s new hardware and could become one of the next big console hits.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is still performing well outside the Steam chart. Ubisoft’s remake continues to lead on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, showing that the pirate adventure remains a powerful draw for console players. However, its weaker position on Steam suggests that PC gamers in Germany are currently more interested in fresh strategy and multiplayer experiences.
Traditional PC retail charts tell a slightly different story. Farming Simulator 25 continues to hold first place, proving the long-running simulation series remains a favorite among German players. Gothic 1 Remake follows behind, showing that classic role-playing franchises still have strong appeal.
Older console platforms are also being led by familiar names. GTA 5 remains the top PlayStation 4 title, while Minecraft continues to dominate on the original Nintendo Switch. These long-lasting hits show how established games can maintain strong sales even as new releases capture headlines.
This week’s German gaming charts highlight a market split between reliable blockbuster franchises and rising newcomers. Splatoon Raiders is leading the console conversation, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced remains strong on current-generation systems, and Corsair Cove has become the unexpected breakout hit on Steam. For PC players in particular, the success of a pirate city builder shows that originality and strong gameplay ideas can still compete with some of the biggest names in gaming.
