MSI has experienced remarkable growth this past year, with a significant surge in motherboard shipments, rivaling leading brands in the market.
In Q2, MSI’s revenue soared, largely due to impressive motherboard and PC shipments. With the surge in AI interest and regular consumer upgrades, companies like Gigabyte, ASUS, and ASRock are aggressively launching new products. Amidst this competitive landscape, MSI has emerged as a favored choice among PC enthusiasts.
According to a report from DigiTimes, MSI’s motherboard shipments have exceeded 10 million units for the first time, marking a significant milestone and closing the gap with Gigabyte. Moreover, MSI is setting its sights on the AI server market with ambitious plans.
Models based on AMD’s X870 and Intel’s Z890 platforms have helped MSI capture attention, thanks in part to their superior thermal designs and appealing aesthetics. Additionally, by moving into more budget-friendly options like the MAG B850M Mortar Wi-Fi motherboard, the company is widening its reach.
This strategy has allowed MSI to capture a larger share of the motherboard market, reaching an all-time high in shipments and leveling the playing field with competitors like Gigabyte and ASUS.
On the notebook front, MSI is also anticipating a significant boost, with shipments projected to reach 2.55 million by 2025. Despite recent challenges like US tariffs, MSI reported record highs in H1 earnings, reflecting strong sales momentum. As AI continues to influence the market, MSI intends to expand its enterprise solutions, including NVIDIA MGX AI servers and custom builds like NVIDIA’s DGX Spark supercomputer.
To sustain this momentum, MSI plans to expand production and open new facilities in the US, aligning with consumer demand. Their GPU division is also performing well, achieving 5 million units in shipments and matching the market share with ASUS.
