Motorola is expanding its foldable lineup beyond the US, officially bringing its first book-style foldable smartphone, the Razr Fold, to India. With this launch, Motorola is stepping directly into the premium foldable race, going head-to-head with other big-name book-style foldables already competing for buyers who want a tablet-sized screen that fits in a pocket.
Motorola Razr Fold price in India and availability
The Motorola Razr Fold starts at INR 149,999 (around $1,565) for the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model. Buyers who want more memory and space can opt for the higher-end 16 GB + 512 GB version, priced at INR 159,999 (around $1,670).
Motorola is also selling a special Razr Fold FIFA World Cup Edition in India for INR 169,999 (around $1,775), aimed at fans who want something more exclusive.
Pre-orders are live through Motorola India’s official website, and shipments are set to begin on May 20.
Motorola Razr Fold specs: flagship Snapdragon power and long update promise
Just like the global model, the India version keeps the same core hardware. The Razr Fold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and is available with up to 16 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage. There’s no microSD card slot or other storage expansion, so choosing the right storage tier matters.
Out of the box, the phone runs Android 16. A major highlight is Motorola’s software commitment: the company is promising seven major Android upgrades, taking the device as far as Android 23, along with seven years of security updates through 2033. Displays: large 8.1-inch inner screen and fast 165 Hz cover display
For the main folding screen, Motorola uses an 8.1-inch LTPO P-OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2484 x 2232 resolution. On the outside, the Razr Fold features a 6.6-inch LTPO P-OLED cover display running at an even faster 165 Hz, with 1080p resolution. This dual-screen setup is designed for both productivity and quick everyday use without needing to open the phone.
Cameras: triple 50 MP rear setup plus two selfie cameras
On the back, the Razr Fold offers a triple-camera system built around three 50 MP sensors: a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP periscope telephoto lens for zoom, and a 50 MP ultrawide camera for wider scenes.
For selfies and video calls, Motorola includes two front-facing cameras: a 20 MP camera on the inner display and a 32 MP camera on the cover screen, giving users flexibility whether the phone is folded or unfolded.
