Monarc Unveils Long-Range Commuter E-Bike Built to Go 130 Miles

Monarc Tracer e-bike launches with dual removable batteries and up to 130 miles of range

Monarc has introduced the Tracer, a new commuter e-bike designed for riders who want long range, strong performance, and everyday practicality without needing to buy major battery upgrades separately. The biggest highlight is its dual-battery setup, which comes standard instead of being sold as an optional add-on.

The Monarc Tracer includes two removable 48V 15Ah LG battery packs, with each battery offering 720Wh of capacity. Together, they deliver a total capacity of 1,440Wh. According to the company, this allows the Tracer to travel up to 130 miles, or around 209 km, on a full dual-battery charge. Riders using only one battery can still get up to 65 miles, or about 104 km, of range.

That kind of range makes the Tracer especially appealing for daily commuters, delivery riders, weekend explorers, and anyone who wants fewer charging stops. The removable design also makes charging more convenient, since users can take the batteries indoors instead of moving the entire bike near an outlet.

Power comes from a Bafang 750W rear hub motor. Monarc says the motor can produce up to 1,638W of peak power and 85Nm of torque, giving the bike enough strength for city riding, hills, and heavier loads. The Tracer ships as a Class 2 commuter e-bike, but it can be configured as Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 depending on rider preference and local regulations. With pedal assist, it can reach speeds of up to 28 mph, or about 45 km/h.

The bike also includes a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that provides important ride information, including battery status, estimated range, and other key riding data. For riders who want more control, the Monarc companion app adds extra smart features such as app-based locking, ride customization, accessory integration, and over-the-air software updates.

Supported smart accessories include a smart helmet, radar tire pressure monitoring system, camera, heart rate device, and phone connectivity. These features help position the Tracer as more than just a standard commuter e-bike, giving it a connected riding experience that may appeal to tech-focused cyclists.

For comfort, the Tracer uses Monarc’s in-house Gneiss suspension fork with 80 mm of front travel. This should help smooth out rough roads, uneven paths, and typical city bumps. The e-bike is built around an aluminum frame and offers a maximum payload capacity of 420 lbs, or 190 kg. Its rear rack can carry up to 59 lbs, or 27 kg, making it useful for groceries, bags, commuting gear, or light cargo.

The Monarc Tracer is available in both high-step and step-thru frame designs, giving riders more flexibility based on their preferred riding style and accessibility needs. Pricing starts at $1,899, which is competitive considering the standard dual-battery package, high-capacity range, powerful motor, touchscreen display, and smart app features.

As part of its launch promotion, Monarc is also including a smart helmet at no extra cost with the purchase of the Tracer. For riders searching for a long-range commuter e-bike with strong power, practical cargo support, and modern connected features, the Monarc Tracer could be one of the more compelling new options in the electric bike market.
