Minisforum Unveils V3 3-in-1 Tablet with AMD Ryzen 7 8840U Processor Set for Late March Release

As the market for convertible tablets continues to grow, the latest entry from Minisforum might just raise the bar. The company has confirmed the specifications for its highly anticipated V3 3-in-1 tablet, which will feature the powerful AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor. This 28W chip boasts 8 Zen4 cores, integrated Radeon 780M graphics, and an advanced XDNA NPU. With a launch window set for the end of March, the V3 is poised to be a notable competitor in the mobile computing space.

The V3 aims to offer a robust user experience with its top-tier features. The tablet will include a stunning 14-inch touchscreen boasting a 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and full coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Alongside its impressive display capabilities, the V3 will come equipped with an MPP 2.6 stylus pen compatible with 4096 pressure levels, providing a precise tool for creative work and note-taking.

For video calls and security, the device includes a 1080p front-facing camera with Windows Hello support, dual microphones, and a 5MP rear camera. Immersive sound is promised via the quad stereo speakers that are built into the tablet.

The V3 can be customized with up to 32GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and up to a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. This ensures that users will have plenty of space for storage and the speed necessary for efficient multitasking.

Connectivity is generous, with offerings that include two USB4 ports, one USB-C connector with DisplayPort mode, an SD card reader supporting UHS-II, an audio jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. The tablet also sports a VLink feature that enables it to serve as a display for other devices such as mini PCs, smartphones, and even gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch.

Security and convenience get a boost with a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button. The cooling system for the tablet is comprised of dual fans and four heat pipes, which should help manage the performance of the hardware during intensive tasks.

Typing is made comfortable with the V3’s detachable keyboard, which includes a backlight and a touchpad. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed, providing the latest productivity and security features from Microsoft.

The build of the tablet is designed to be sleek and portable, with dimensions measuring 318mm x 213.8mm x 9.8mm and a weight of 946g, not counting the keyboard.

Minisforum also notes that users will be able to switch power modes (Power Saver, Balanced, and High Performance) depending on their needs, bolstered by real-time performance monitoring and power management tools.

Though pricing information has yet to be released, Minisforum has promised to disclose more details regarding potential price points as the launch date approaches at the end of March.

The Minisforum V3 tablet appears to be setting the stage for a versatile, powerful, and user-friendly computing option for consumers looking to balance work and play in a highly mobile package.
