Mihogo Air Unveils Revolutionary Carbon Fiber E-Bike with Over 100-Mile Range for Crowdfunding Launch

The Mihogo Air carbon fiber e-bike has taken the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo by storm, achieving exceptional success right from the start. With 45 days still to go, the campaign has far exceeded its initial funding goal of $514, amassing almost $15,000 from just ten enthusiastic supporters.

What’s drawing attention to this e-bike is its striking claim of being ultra-light. The carbon fiber frame, indeed a marvel, weighs a mere 3.5 kg (about 7.7 lbs). However, when assembled with its motor and battery, the complete bike’s weight reaches 22.6 kg (around 49.8 lbs), putting it in the average weight category for e-bikes. So, the notion of it being “easy to lift with one hand” might be a tad ambitious.

Powering the Mihogo Air is a 250W motor, complemented by a single torque sensor and a 461Wh battery, promising a ride of up to 64 miles (approximately 103 km) on a single charge. Its beefed-up sibling, the Air Max, caters to adventurous riders with a robust 750W motor available to US customers (or a 250W motor for those in the EU) and dual-arm torque sensors. Thanks to a mighty 1,000Wh battery, the Air Max boasts an impressive range of up to 128 miles (around 206 km), and with GaN fast charging technology, it can recharge fully in just 3.5 hours.

The e-bike is packed with features to delight tech-savvy riders. It incorporates a 7-speed Shimano transmission for smooth shifts and an engaging 2.4-inch IPS display. This screen not only assists with smart notifications and navigation but also interfaces with a smartphone app via Bluetooth for remote control options. Plus, with an IP67 water resistance rating, it can withstand harsh weather, and a variety of optional accessories are available for purchase.

The pricing for early adopters is enticing, with Super Early Bird pledges for the Mihogo Air starting at $999, significantly discounted from its regular retail price of $1,665. The Air Max, offering even more power and range, can be snagged for $1,199 against its typical price of $1,998. While this campaign follows the brand’s previous Mihogo One e-bike project last year, prospective backers should remain cautious. As is often the case with crowdfunding, there are no firm guarantees on delivery times, as evidenced by some backer feedback.

As this campaign continues to gain momentum, it brings forth the excitement of cutting-edge technology while reminding enthusiasts to navigate the world of crowdfunding with informed optimism.
