Originally announced in June 2023 and hitting the shelves in October, the Meta Quest 3 came in two storage variants: a 128GB version priced at $499.99 and a 512GB version at $649.99. With this latest update, the 512GB version now boasts a significant price cut, dropping to $499.99 permanently—a 23% reduction from its initial price.
The 128GB model isn’t left out; its price is now reduced to $429.99. However, considering you can quadruple your storage for just $70 more, the 512GB model presents itself as an unbeatable deal.
To sweeten the pot, Meta is offering an enticing promotion for families purchasing the Quest 3. From now until April 2025, you get the upcoming VR game “Batman: Arkham Shadows” and three months of Meta Quest+ for free with your purchase.
Looking ahead, the Quest 3 is set to receive several new features. Users can anticipate support for Travel Mode, which will allow the headset to function seamlessly on trains, the ability to use the headset while lying down, and the convenience of offline downloads for apps like Prime Video.
It’s noteworthy that Meta is also discontinuing some of its older models. Both the Quest 2 and Quest Pro, released in 2020 and 2022 respectively, will be phased out. They will remain available for purchase until the end of the year or until existing stocks are depleted, and their accessories will still be available for a bit longer.
