Meet the Lombard E: Marin’s First E‑Gravel, Driven by Bosch SX Sprint

Marin Bikes has entered the e-gravel scene with the Lombard E, its first electric gravel bike for the European market. Two versions are available at launch—the Lombard E1 and Lombard E2—sharing the same frame and overall design, but with key component differences that cater to different riders and budgets.

Both models use an aluminum frame paired with a full carbon fork to balance comfort and control on mixed terrain. Power comes from the Bosch SX Sprint motor, neatly integrated with a 400 Wh PowerTube battery for a clean look. The brand hasn’t published top speed, torque, or range figures yet.

Where the bikes diverge is in drivetrain and features. The Lombard E1 comes with a Shimano GRX 12-speed mechanical setup, while the Lombard E2 upgrades to Shimano GRX Di2 with 12-speed electronic, wireless shifting for faster, more precise gear changes. The E2 also adds a Trans X dropper seatpost, letting riders lower the saddle at the push of a button when tackling steep descents or technical sections. The E1 omits both the wireless shifting and the dropper.

Stopping power on both bikes comes from Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes, and each model rolls on wide tires designed to boost stability and grip on gravel and rough roads. In keeping with the minimalist approach, there’s no built-in LCD display or app-based control system on either model.

The Lombard E lineup is offered in two dual-tone colorways—white and brown or grey and blue—and comes in sizes S, M, L, and XL to fit a wide range of riders. Pricing in Europe starts at €3,899 for the Lombard E1 and €4,699 for the Lombard E2.
