DJI is gearing up for another major product reveal, confirming a new global launch event scheduled for May 7, 2026 at 12:00 UTC. The company is keeping official details under wraps for now, but the short teaser video and tagline, “Wonders in Your Palm,” offer a strong hint that something compact and hand-focused is on the way.
The announcement arrives right after DJI expanded the rollout of its Mic Mini 2 wireless microphone to more regions. While the Mic Mini 2 is now available in markets outside China, DJI appears to be skipping a US release for this model. At the same time, DJI has also signaled that a Mic Mini 2S is planned to arrive later this year, suggesting its audio lineup will continue to evolve alongside its mobile filming accessories.
So what’s likely coming at the May 2026 event? Based on the imagery used in DJI’s teaser—reused from an earlier promotional clip shared on Chinese social channels—the spotlight may be on a small remote-style accessory. That device closely resembles the remote control bundled with the Osmo Mobile 8P, which has been positioned as a more premium option compared with the standard Osmo Mobile 8.
If the hints are accurate, DJI could be preparing to elevate—or potentially replace—its current smartphone gimbal lineup by pushing the Osmo Mobile 8P forward as the higher-end choice. For creators, vloggers, and mobile filmmakers, that could mean a renewed focus on smoother handheld shooting, easier one-handed control, and more advanced features packaged into a travel-friendly setup.
With DJI confirming the date and time but revealing little else, all eyes now turn to May 7. Whether the event introduces a new Osmo Mobile model, expands the Osmo Mobile 8P’s reach, or adds new creative tools to DJI’s mobile ecosystem, the company is clearly aiming to keep smartphone content creation “in the palm of your hand.”
