Nintendo is officially bringing Mario Kart Tour to an end this fall, marking the close of its long-running mobile racing game.
The company has confirmed that Mario Kart Tour will shut down on September 29 at 11 PM PT, which is September 30 at 2 AM ET and 8 AM CEST. After that time, players will no longer be able to access the smartphone game.
Launched in September 2019 for iOS and Android, Mario Kart Tour brought Nintendo’s popular kart racing series to mobile devices with simplified controls, familiar characters, themed tours, and tracks inspired by locations around the world. Over the years, the game built a dedicated player base by offering regular updates, seasonal events, and a rotating selection of racers, karts, and gliders.
However, unlike some other Nintendo mobile titles, there has been no announcement of an offline version for Mario Kart Tour. That means players should not expect a separate complete edition or standalone version that can be played after the servers close, unless Nintendo announces a change before the shutdown date.
