Manor Lords’ Next Major Update Targets Late July for Steam Beta
Manor Lords is preparing for another major Early Access update, with developer Slavic Magic aiming to bring the new patch to the Steam beta branch by the end of July. If testing goes as planned, the update is expected to reach the main Early Access version by the end of August.
The upcoming Manor Lords update looks set to deepen the medieval city-building experience with more detailed construction systems, expanded food production, and new seasonal management options. For players who enjoy the game’s grounded approach to settlement building, this patch could make towns feel even more alive.
One of the biggest changes is the way construction will work. Building projects will be separated into basic and advanced categories. Simple structures should remain easier to complete, while larger and more complex buildings will require skilled builders. This change should make town development feel more realistic, especially as settlements grow from small villages into more organized medieval communities.
Material transport is also getting an upgrade. Handcarts and ox carts will be used to move resources around construction sites, adding another layer of visual detail and logistical planning. Instead of materials simply appearing where they are needed, players will see more of the actual work involved in building and expanding their settlement.
The stone church upgrade is also being redesigned. The new version will make the construction process more visible, including mortar mixing, scaffolding, and cranes. This should make one of Manor Lords’ most important medieval buildings feel more impressive and authentic as it takes shape.
The economy is receiving several notable additions as well. Players will be able to breed cattle, producing both milk and beef. Milk can then be processed into cheese through a new artisan profession, giving settlements another valuable food source and production chain.
Oats are also being added as a new crop. They can be grown for human consumption or used as livestock feed, giving players more flexibility in how they manage agriculture. This ties into another important change: animals will need feed during winter. As a result, preparing for the colder months will become even more important, especially for settlements that rely heavily on livestock.
Seasonal workplace assignments are also planned for the update. This feature should help players manage labor more efficiently throughout the year, shifting workers between jobs depending on seasonal needs. For example, villagers may focus on farming during growing seasons and move to other work during winter.
Trading Posts are getting more control options too, with configurable storage planned as part of the update. This should make trade management easier and allow players to better organize goods for import, export, or local use.
The update will also introduce a new map called Wide Valley. While details are limited, a fresh map should give players a new landscape to explore, settle, and defend as they test out the new systems.
Manor Lords is currently available in Early Access on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. Console versions for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S are also planned for the future.
With deeper construction, expanded farming, cattle breeding, cheese production, winter animal feed, and a new map, the next Manor Lords update appears focused on making medieval settlement management richer and more immersive. If the planned schedule holds, beta players should be able to try the changes by the end of July, while the wider Early Access release is expected by the end of August.
