Mangmi is keeping the hype alive for its upcoming Pocket Max gaming handheld, building on the early details it first shared in December 2025. This time, the company has confirmed one of the biggest talking points for portable gamers: battery life.
According to Mangmi’s latest update on social media, the Pocket Max will feature a sizable 8,000mAh battery. That’s a major capacity for a handheld of this style, and Mangmi says the larger battery is designed to deliver longer gaming sessions between charges. It’s also a practical match for the device’s other confirmed specs, including a 7-inch OLED display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate and a Snapdragon 865 processor.
The 8,000mAh figure is notable because it’s the same battery capacity found in the AYN Odin 3. However, the comparison is interesting on paper: the Odin 3 has a smaller 6-inch 120Hz OLED screen and uses a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In other words, the Pocket Max appears to be prioritizing a large, high-refresh OLED panel and endurance, pairing them with a proven flagship-class Qualcomm chip that has been popular in the handheld and emulation scene.
Beyond battery details, Mangmi also shared final design decisions for button colors on two Pocket Max variants, and those choices came directly from community feedback. After running a poll in response to fan opinions, Mangmi confirmed the following:
The white Pocket Max will stick to the original look, using white buttons with orange markings and text. The black Pocket Max is getting a noticeable tweak: it will now ship with black buttons and white markings/text, replacing the orange markings shown in earlier renders. Meanwhile, the Retro GB color option will keep its original design unchanged.
For anyone tracking the Pocket Max release date and price, Mangmi still hasn’t revealed either. That said, the company’s past approach suggests what may come next. A pre-order window with an early-bird discount is likely, similar to how Mangmi handled the launch strategy for its previous handheld releases.
With a 7-inch 144Hz OLED screen, Snapdragon 865 performance, and an 8,000mAh battery now confirmed, the Mangmi Pocket Max is shaping up to be a serious contender for players who want a modern display and extended playtime in a retro-friendly handheld form factor.
