Mangmi has officially confirmed the pricing and launch schedule for its new Air Y series, bringing two vertical retro handheld gaming devices to market: the Mangmi Air Y and the more powerful Mangmi Air Y Pro. After being unveiled several weeks ago, the compact Android-based handhelds now have a release date, early bird pricing, and full configuration details.
The Mangmi Air Y series will go on sale on August 12 at 7 PM PDT. Both models will be available in two color options: Black and Retro. Buyers should note that the early bird prices will only be available for the first three days, after which the devices will move to their regular retail pricing.
The standard Mangmi Air Y is the more affordable option in the lineup. It will launch at an early bird price of $89.99, before rising to its regular price of $94.99 after August 15. Despite being the entry-level model, it still offers a strong feature set for fans of retro gaming handhelds.
The Mangmi Air Y Pro is aimed at users who want more performance for emulation and Android gaming. It will be offered in two configurations. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model will start at $145.99 during the early bird period, then increase to $159.99. The higher-end 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version will launch at $175.99, before moving to its final retail price of $189.99.
Both the Mangmi Air Y and Air Y Pro share several key features. Each handheld comes with a 4.2-inch IPS display featuring a 1280 × 960 resolution and up to 500 nits of peak brightness. They also include a 5,000mAh battery, a microSD card slot for storage expansion, a 6-axis gyroscope, a cooling fan, a custom button, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a physical volume wheel.
The standard Air Y is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage.
