Mamon King brings monster-raising strategy to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8
Indie developer LiTMUS is bringing Mamon King to Nintendo Switch 2 with a native version launching on October 8. The card-battling monster-raising simulation game will also receive a physical Game-Key Card edition in Japan, giving collectors another way to add the title to their library.
One important detail for existing players is that save data will not carry over between the original Nintendo Switch version and the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Anyone planning to jump into the upgraded release should be ready to start fresh with a new team of Mamons.
Mamon King is already available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 release gives the game another platform for players who enjoy creature training, tactical battles, and long-term progression built around raising powerful monsters.
In Mamon King, players take on the role of rare individuals who can form bonds with Mamons, mysterious monsters summoned from another world. Your goal is simple but challenging: train your Mamons, guide them through battles, win tournaments, and eventually defeat the strongest Mamon to earn the title of Mamon King.
The game combines monster-raising simulation with strategic 1-on-1 command battles. Players must carefully decide how to train their Mamons each week, when to enter tournaments, and how to strengthen their companions through expeditions and special systems. Success depends on more than raw power. Understanding each Mamon’s strengths, weaknesses, lifespan, and skill potential is key to building a champion.
Mamon King features 38 unique Mamons, each with its own appearance, personality-like traits, training preferences, and growth potential. Some may excel in certain areas, while others may require more patience and planning to reach their full strength. Choosing the right training path is an important part of the experience, especially for players who enjoy deep monster-raising gameplay.
Combat is built around more than 170 skills, giving battles a strong tactical edge. Skills are not limited to simple attacks or defensive moves. Players can use buffs, debuffs, and special techniques that can dramatically change the flow of a fight. Since skills consume SP, deciding when to use a powerful move becomes just as important as choosing which move to use. Some abilities may require major sacrifices, making timing and strategy essential.
The 1-on-1 command battle system is designed to be easy to understand while still offering plenty of depth for players who want to master it. Every decision matters, from conserving SP to reading the opponent’s strategy and preparing the right response. This makes each tournament battle feel like a test of both preparation and tactical judgment.
Outside of combat, players spend time raising their Mamons at home, choosing weekly activities that shape their growth. Training is only one part of the journey. Mamons can also grow stronger by joining tournaments against rivals or heading out on expeditions. These expeditions send players through unexplored lands in a board game-style format, with rumors of ancient Mamons waiting beyond the known world.
The game also includes systems that allow players to create more personalized and powerful Mamons. Through Inheritance Summoning, the strength of a trained Mamon can be passed on, giving future Mamons a stronger foundation. Other unusual methods may also push a Mamon beyond its normal limits, including help from eccentric characters such as a suspicious scientist or an intense muscle-bound trainer.
With its mix of card-battling, monster training, tactical combat, and ranch-style raising mechanics, Mamon King offers a fresh take on the monster-raising genre. The Nintendo Switch 2 version gives new players a chance to begin their journey, while returning fans can experience the adventure again with a clean start when it arrives on October 8.
