MAINGEAR is pushing its MG-1 gaming desktop to the top of its lineup with a new, ultra-premium configuration built around AMD’s latest flagship Zen 5 X3D processor: the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition. The MG-1 family already offers a wide range of choices across Intel, AMD, and NVIDIA hardware, but this new option is positioned as the highest-end build the company currently offers for buyers who want a no-compromises gaming PC.
The MG-1 has already been available with top-tier chips such as the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. With the introduction of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, MAINGEAR is aiming to deliver what it describes as its fastest gaming desktop yet. Alongside the new CPU option, the company is also touting several quality-of-life and design updates, including support for motherboards that use rear-facing connectors for cleaner cable management, a refined front panel that uses stronger magnets for a more secure fit, and improved cooling-focused upgrades.
At the center of this new configuration is the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition, a dual 3D V-Cache chiplet design that brings a total of 208 MB of cache. The processor recently launched at $899, and the MG-1 build is designed to pair it with high-end graphics options for premium gaming performance. Buyers can configure the system with GPUs up to the GeForce RTX 5090, with additional options that include AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT.
To keep this flagship CPU performing at its best, MAINGEAR equips the build with a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler to help prevent thermal throttling under heavy gaming or creator workloads. Airflow is also a priority, with triple 140mm fans mounted at the front to move more air through the chassis and keep temperatures under control for the CPU and GPU.
On the memory and storage side, the MG-1 can be configured with up to 128 GB of DDR5 running at 6000 MT/s. Storage expansion is also a major highlight, with support for up to six NVMe M.2 SSDs, giving power users plenty of room for large game libraries, creative projects, and high-speed scratch disks.
Connectivity is equally future-facing, with configuration options that include up to 10 GbE LAN, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. Up front, the PC offers a practical selection of ports, including a USB Type-A port, a 20 Gbps USB Type-C port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones.
Pricing will vary widely depending on parts selection. MAINGEAR says pre-configured and fully custom MG-1 builds start at $1,999, while the most extreme Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and RTX 5090-class setups are expected to land far higher. Based on existing high-end builds that reach around $8,299 with a Ryzen 9 9950X3D, RTX 5090, 64 GB of RAM, and a 2 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD, a fully loaded flagship configuration could realistically fall in the $9,000 to $10,000 range. For shoppers looking at more affordable entry points, the MG-1 lineup also starts at $1,249 with specs like a Ryzen 5 9600X and an RTX 5050, with plenty of configurations available to match different budgets and performance goals.
