Lords of the Fallen, the popular souls-like adventure from publisher CI Games and developer HEXWORKS, has just rolled out its monumental 2.0 update. This revamped edition, hailed as the definitive version of the game, introduces exciting new features including a Free Friend’s Pass, more than 50 post-launch updates, and shared progression co-op capabilities. Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games, expressed his gratitude to the gaming community, highlighting that the game has exceeded initial expectations since its 2023 launch, making it a perfect opportunity for newcomers and loyal fans alike to dive back in.
While the update is currently live on all platforms except Steam, due to a last-minute technical issue, players can still enjoy a host of sales and discounts across different gaming platforms as a way to celebrate this major upgrade:
– On PlayStation, players can grab the Standard Edition for $19.60 and upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $5.60 in the Spring Sale until April 23rd.
– Xbox users can enjoy the Standard Edition for $20.99, with the Deluxe Edition offered at $23.99 until May 1st, both as part of the Spring Sale.
– PC gamers can take advantage of Steam’s Custom Sale, with discounts of 67%, pricing the Standard Edition at $19.80 and the Deluxe Edition at $23.10, available until May 1st.
– Similarly, the Epic Games Store is offering the same discounts with the sales ending on April 24th.
This update cements Lords of the Fallen as a top-tier co-op experience, enriched by community feedback. One of the standout features is the Free Friend’s Pass, enabling players to enjoy the entire game with a companion. A player without a copy of the game can journey through the full adventure for free when paired with a friend who owns the base game.
Exciting features of Version 2.0 include free access to the character creator and tutorial area, with all character progress and loot being saved across sessions. The update also introduces full shared progression, allowing both players to retain mainline story progress and loot collection, with boss defeats and beacon lightings persisting in both game worlds.
Gamers will find a newly improved combat system featuring more precise weapon handling, refined targeting mechanics, and a dedicated jump button for better platforming. Movement has been enhanced for faster, more responsive gameplay, alongside a complete weapon audio overhaul to deliver a richer in-game soundscape.
Visually, the game receives a significant upgrade with an enhanced character creator featuring extensive facial options and skin textures. A revamped user interface offers a cleaner, more intuitive navigation experience, alongside a new guidebook that allows players to revisit tutorial prompts at their convenience.
Lords of the Fallen continues to captivate players on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, inviting everyone to explore its thrilling world in a new light thanks to Version 2.0.
