LG Electronics is getting ready to show off a fresh wave of ultra-light laptops at CES 2026, and the headline feature is built-in generative AI. The upcoming LG Gram Pro AI 2026 lineup will debut with LG’s own Exaone 3.5 large language model, designed to run AI tasks locally on the laptop while also improving everyday productivity features like search and summarization.
A key part of this on-device approach is a feature called My Archive. It saves and organizes information from files stored on your computer, enabling local searches and AI-generated answers without needing to rely entirely on the cloud. For users who care about speed, offline access, and keeping more data on their device, local AI features like this are becoming a major selling point in the new “AI PC” category.
True to the LG Gram identity, portability remains front and center. LG says the 16-inch LG Gram Pro model weighs just 1.199 kg, keeping it firmly in the ultra-light laptop conversation despite its larger screen size. To make that possible, the company points to a specialized material called Aerominum—described as a high-end material commonly used in aircraft—aimed at balancing light weight with durability.
Battery life is another area LG is emphasizing for the 2026 Gram refresh. The 16-inch model is expected to include a 77 Wh battery, with LG estimating up to 27 hours of use between charges. The company also claims fast charging performance strong enough to deliver more than nine hours of use from around 30 minutes of charging—an attention-grabbing figure for travelers, students, and anyone who spends long days away from an outlet.
LG plans to introduce seven LG Gram models in South Korea on January 6. The lineup includes the LG Gram Pro AI, LG Gram Pro 360 AI, and LG Grambook AI, signaling that LG intends to expand AI-focused features across multiple form factors, including 360-degree convertible options.
For context, LG previously unveiled two Gram Pro models in July 2025: the 16Z90TR and 17Z90TR. Those configurations were built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 series 2 255H processor and included a dedicated Nvidia RTX 5050 GPU, with listed weights of 1.3 kg and 1.4 kg. The CES 2026 announcement continues that momentum, with an even sharper focus on local generative AI and battery endurance—two of the biggest battlegrounds in the premium thin-and-light laptop market for 2026.
