LG Display is pushing competitive gaming monitors into a new era with a 720Hz Gaming OLED panel designed specifically for esports players who demand extreme speed, sharp motion clarity, and near-instant response times.
The new OLED panel is built to deliver an ultra-fast 0.02 ms response time, making it one of the most responsive display technologies aimed at professional and high-level competitive gaming. For fast-paced titles where every millisecond matters, this could give players smoother tracking, quicker visual feedback, and a more precise gaming experience.
LG Display is also using a proprietary driving algorithm that is designed to reduce ghosting and motion blur. This matters especially in esports games, where rapid camera movements, flick shots, and fast character motion can make traditional displays feel less clear. However, gamers will still need to wait before they can buy it. Asus has only teased a Q4 2026 launch window, following its reveal during Gamescom 2026. Pricing is reportedly expected to target around $1,099 in the United States and €1,149 in Europe, placing it firmly in the premium esports monitor category.
LG Display also confirmed that it plans to begin mass production of more esports-focused OLED monitor panels soon. These upcoming displays are expected to range from 20 inches to 40 inches, giving manufacturers more flexibility to create high-refresh-rate gaming monitors for different setups, from compact competitive displays to larger immersive screens.
While full specifications for the broader lineup have not been revealed yet, the arrival of a 720Hz OLED gaming panel signals a major step forward for the esports monitor market.
