Lenovo Unveils Panther Lake Laptop With Massive 90Wh Battery and OCuLink Expansion

Lenovo Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition Debuts With Intel Panther Lake Power, 90Wh Battery, and 120Hz Display

Lenovo has introduced a new performance-focused laptop in China, the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition. Designed for users who want strong productivity performance, long battery life, and modern connectivity in a sleek 16-inch machine, the laptop arrives with Intel’s latest Panther Lake hardware and a large 90Wh battery.

At the heart of the Lenovo Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition is the Intel Core Ultra X9 378H, a high-end chip from the Panther Lake lineup. This processor is paired with Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics, giving the laptop enough graphical capability to handle everyday creative workloads and even some modern games at 1080p, provided settings are adjusted for smoother performance.

Lenovo has also focused heavily on thermal performance. The laptop features a dual-fan cooling system and supports an 80W performance mode for users who need extra power during demanding tasks. For quieter operation or longer battery life, the system can scale down to as low as 30W, making it more flexible for office work, study, travel, and entertainment.

One of the biggest highlights is the 90Wh battery. Lenovo claims the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition can deliver more than 25 hours of runtime during office-based tasks, which could make it a strong option for users who want a laptop that lasts through long workdays without constantly searching for a charger. The laptop also supports 140W fast charging, helping reduce downtime when the battery needs topping up.

The display is another key selling point. Lenovo has equipped the laptop with a 16-inch IPS panel featuring a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 500 nits of peak brightness. The taller 16:10 aspect ratio should provide more vertical space for documents, spreadsheets, browsing, and creative work. Lenovo also claims 100% sRGB color coverage, while the anti-glare coating should improve visibility in bright indoor environments or near windows.

Connectivity is also impressive for a thin performance laptop. The Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition includes an OCuLink port, which gives users proper external GPU support for significantly stronger graphics performance when connected to a compatible eGPU setup. It also includes a USB4 port, adding support for high-speed data transfer and versatile accessory connectivity.

Other notable features include a full-size keyboard, a clean and modern design, and a relatively portable body weighing around 1.75 kg, or approximately 3.86 lbs. For a 16-inch laptop with a large battery and high-performance processor, that weight keeps it reasonably easy to carry.

Lenovo is currently offering the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition in a single configuration. It comes with 32GB of LPDDR5x memory and a 1TB SSD, giving users plenty of RAM for multitasking and enough fast storage for apps, documents, media, and project files.

In China, the laptop is priced at CNY 9,999, which is roughly $1,499. While Lenovo has not confirmed a wider international release yet, there is a possibility that the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition could arrive in global markets under the IdeaPad branding.

With its Intel Panther Lake processor, large 90Wh battery, sharp 120Hz display, OCuLink support, and slim 16-inch design, the Lenovo Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition looks like a well-rounded laptop for productivity users, students, creators, and professionals who want strong performance without giving up battery life.
