Lenovo has introduced the Legion C700, a new handheld gaming device designed for players who want a compact machine with a high-refresh display, modern controls, and cloud gaming potential at a relatively affordable price.
The Legion C700 features a 7.82-inch IPS screen with slim bezels, giving the device a clean and immersive look for portable play. The display runs at a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio, making it well-suited for streaming games, watching content, and playing supported Android titles. One of its biggest highlights is the 120 Hz refresh rate, which should help deliver smoother visuals during fast-paced gameplay. The panel also reaches up to 500 nits of peak brightness, offering decent visibility for a handheld device.
Powering the Lenovo Legion C700 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, an octa-core chipset built on a 4 nm process. To help maintain performance during longer gaming sessions, Lenovo has equipped the handheld with a small fan and heatsink for active cooling. This should help reduce heat buildup when streaming games, running demanding apps, or playing for extended periods.
Lenovo has also focused on the controls, which are essential for any gaming handheld. The Legion C700 comes with TMR joysticks, Hall effect triggers, and dedicated macro buttons. These features are aimed at improving precision, durability, and customization, giving players more control across different game genres.
Battery life is another key part of the package. The device includes an 8,000 mAh battery, which should provide enough capacity for cloud gaming, media playback, and casual gaming on the go. While real-world battery performance will depend on brightness, refresh rate, and the type of games being played, the large battery gives the Legion C700 a strong foundation for portable use.
In China, Lenovo will offer the Legion C700 with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage at a launch price of CNY 1,499, which is roughly $225. This is a discounted price compared to its listed MSRP of CNY 2,199, or about $325. Pre-orders are scheduled to begin in China on September 8.
A lower-cost version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is also expected, though Lenovo has not yet confirmed when that model will become available. For now, the company has also not announced whether the Legion C700 will launch in global markets.
With its 120 Hz Full HD display, large battery, active cooling, and gaming-focused controls, the Lenovo Legion C700 could become an attractive option for users looking for an affordable handheld gaming device, especially for cloud gaming and mobile entertainment.
