Lenovo Unleashes OLED Gaming Powerhouse With RTX 5090 Muscle

Lenovo Y9000P Extreme Edition Debuts With Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, RTX 5090, and a Bright 240Hz OLED Display

Lenovo has introduced its 2026 Y9000P Extreme Edition gaming laptop in China, and it is clearly built for players and creators who want desktop-class performance in a portable machine. The new model brings a major hardware refresh, led by Intel’s latest Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series laptop graphics.

The biggest upgrade in this generation is the CPU. Lenovo has equipped the Y9000P Extreme Edition with the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, a high-end mobile processor designed for demanding gaming, streaming, rendering, and multitasking workloads. Lenovo claims the chip can deliver up to 165W of performance, giving the laptop plenty of power for modern AAA games and professional creative applications.

For graphics, buyers can configure the laptop with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB of video memory. Lenovo says this GPU can reach up to 175W of performance, making it one of the most powerful mobile graphics options currently available. For users who want strong performance at a lower price, the laptop will also be offered with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU, while keeping the same Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor.

To control heat from these high-performance components, Lenovo has fitted the Y9000P Extreme Edition with a 285W triple-fan cooling system. This thermal setup is designed to maintain stable performance during long gaming sessions, heavy rendering tasks, and other sustained workloads. For a laptop with this level of CPU and GPU power, cooling will be a key factor in how well it performs in real-world use.

The display is another major highlight. The Lenovo Y9000P Extreme Edition features a 16-inch OLED screen with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a fast 240Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach a peak brightness of 1,100 nits and supports 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, making it suitable not only for competitive gaming but also for video editing, design work, and media consumption.

A 240Hz OLED display gives this laptop a strong advantage for gamers who want smooth motion, deep contrast, and vibrant colors. The taller 16:10 aspect ratio also provides more vertical screen space, which can be useful for productivity, coding, editing timelines, and general multitasking.

Lenovo has also added a bold gaming design with RGB lighting placed around the rear exhaust, front bottom section, and back chassis. The laptop includes a TrueStrike keyboard, which is Lenovo’s gaming-focused keyboard system designed for responsive and comfortable input during gameplay.

Other key features include support for WiFi 7, up to 64GB of DDR5 memory, and a wide selection of ports for peripherals, external displays, storage devices, and accessories. This makes the Y9000P Extreme Edition suitable for users who want a high-performance laptop that can also function as a full desktop replacement.

In China, the Lenovo Y9000P Extreme Edition with the RTX 5070 Ti starts at CNY 20,999, which is roughly $3,081. The more powerful RTX 5090 configuration starts at CNY 37,999, or around $5,575.

The laptop is expected to arrive in international markets under Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i branding. If launched globally, it could become one of Lenovo’s strongest gaming laptops for 2026, especially for buyers looking for a combination of Intel Core Ultra performance, RTX 5090 graphics, a premium OLED display, and advanced cooling.
