Lenovo has recently expanded its product lineup with the introduction of two new ThinkPlus GaN chargers that support fast-charging capabilities, specifically designed to cater to the growing needs for efficient and high-speed charging solutions. These chargers, belonging to the “Light and Shadow” series, have been launched in the Chinese market and are notable for their ability to charge multiple devices at once.
The first charger boasts a convenient four-port configuration with two USB-C and two USB-A ports, offering a maximum power output of 100W. This versatility makes it suitable not only for charging laptops like the ThinkBook 14 G6—which it can recharge in 99 minutes—but also for powering up a wide range of other devices such as smartphones, gaming handhelds, and accessories. This is largely thanks to its support for multiple charging protocols.
The second charger introduced by Lenovo features a three-port design, which includes two USB-C ports and one USB-A port. This more powerful charger provides up to 140W of fast charging, capable of recharging devices like the Apple MacBook Pro 14 in approximately 74 minutes. Alongside this impressive speed, it too is compatible with various charging standards, including PD 3.1, QC 3.0, and PPS, ensuring it can meet the needs of various gadgets beyond just laptops.
Both variants are equipped with Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, which allows them to be compact and lightweight, thus enhancing their portability. They also come with foldable prongs, adding to their travel-friendly design. Safety is another key feature of these chargers, with multiple protection measures integrated to ensure secure operation during charging sessions.
In terms of pricing, the 100W charger is available for approximately $34.74 (CNY 249), and the 140W charger for about $51.49 (CNY 369). Though these chargers are currently available in China, Lenovo has not announced any plans for international release. However, for those seeking similar products outside China, options like the UGREEN Nexode 140W power adapter suggest a growing market for high-capacity, multi-port GaN chargers.
For consumers interested in these state-of-the-art chargers, it’s clear that Lenovo is catering to a segment that values the convenience of charging multiple devices rapidly and safely, with the added benefit of portability. As the demand for efficient charging solutions increases, products like the ThinkPlus GaN chargers are likely to become more prevalent, not just in China, but on a global scale.
