Las Vegas Police Department Gains Fleet of 10 Tesla Cybertrucks from Secret Benefactor

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is set to modernize its fleet with an impressive addition: 10 sleek Tesla Cybertrucks. This upgrade is thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor who provided these futuristic electric vehicles at no cost. LVMPD’s intention to incorporate these robust trucks into its patrol and SWAT operations was officially shared by Sheriff Kelvin McMahill during the department’s 2025 State of the Department address.

Sheriff McMahill expressed the department’s enthusiasm, stating, “The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is thrilled to announce the inclusion of 10 Tesla Cybertrucks into our fleet! These state-of-the-art vehicles, tailored specifically for patrol and SWAT tasks, equip our officers with cutting-edge technology to better serve the community.” He also noted the vehicle’s bulletproof capabilities and its potential attraction for new recruits, highlighting that this initiative is budget-friendly for taxpayers.

While the donor remains a mystery, the move comes amidst Tesla’s efforts to boost sales of the Cybertruck, which has seen slower-than-expected market uptake. In an effort to ramp up sales, Tesla has been offering incentives such as free vehicle wraps and significant discounts.

The Cybertrucks will join LVMPD’s arsenal of technology, working alongside semi-autonomous drones equipped with shot-spotting capabilities to aid in tracking suspects. This strategic enhancement signifies a step toward a more sustainable and technologically advanced policing approach in Las Vegas.
