Lagis Launches Second Plant, Tripling Capacity to Fuel Own-Brand and OEM Expansion

Taiwan-based medical device maker Lagis Enterprise has completed construction of its second manufacturing plant, a major expansion for the minimally invasive surgery specialist. The new facility is three times the size of the company’s original factory, signaling a bold scale-up to meet rising demand for high-quality, minimally invasive surgical devices.

Chairman Cheng-hung Chen said the plant’s setup is finished and it is now undergoing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification. Achieving GMP compliance is a key step for medical device manufacturers, underpinning consistent quality, safety, and reliability—standards that are essential for hospital procurement and global market access.

Beyond the capacity boost, the additional site strengthens supply chain resilience and provides room for product diversification and faster turnaround times. The expansion also positions Lagis to advance its own-brand strategy while supporting partners that rely on its manufacturing expertise.

What this expansion means for the market:
– A larger production footprint to scale minimally invasive surgical device output
– Enhanced quality systems aligned with GMP requirements
– Greater supply stability and shorter lead times for healthcare customers
– Flexibility to support new product launches and international growth

With setup complete and certification in progress, Lagis is preparing for its next phase of growth. The move underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and dependable manufacturing in the global minimally invasive surgery field.
