Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] brings the full Dark Seeker Saga to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 on October 8, 2026
Square Enix is preparing a major return for one of its most beloved action RPG franchises. Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] is set to launch natively on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 8, 2026, giving fans a modern way to experience Sora’s journey from the very beginning through Kingdom Hearts III.
A PC version is also planned for release through the Microsoft Store. For Nintendo players, this launch is especially notable because the Switch 2 version replaces the previous cloud-based releases with native versions, allowing the games to run directly on the hardware rather than relying on streaming.
Pre-orders are now open across supported platforms.
The collection brings together the core chapters of the Dark Seeker Saga in one package. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX includes Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, and Birth by Sleep Final Mix. It also features HD cinematic versions of 358/2 Days and Re:coded, giving players the key story moments from those entries in movie form.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is also included, adding Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep, and the Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover movie. Rounding out the package is Kingdom Hearts III along with the Re Mind DLC, making this collection one of the most complete ways to follow the franchise’s main storyline.
Players who pre-order digitally on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S will receive 48-hour early access to the collection, including Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind. Each platform also comes with its own exclusive Keyblade bonus. PlayStation 5 players receive Midnight Blue, Xbox Series X|S players get Phantom Green, and Switch 2 players receive Long Night.
Physical editions have been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. At this time, there is no physical Xbox edition listed. Square Enix has not yet shared specific performance details, such as frame rate targets or loading time improvements for the new native versions.
Existing players may also be able to save money when upgrading. Anyone who owns digital versions on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or the previous Switch cloud releases can claim a 50% discount on digital pre-orders and digital purchases after launch. This discount does not apply to physical copies.
For Switch 2 owners, the collection discount requires ownership of every individual cloud title or the full Integrum Masterpiece cloud bundle. Save transfers are supported from the cloud versions to Switch 2, but save transfers are not supported on other platforms.
The older cloud versions are no longer available for purchase and will stop working on June 9, 2027. However, Nintendo Switch players can still purchase Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX as a native release.
A free Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind demo is also available on Switch 2. The demo includes an early section of Olympus, with progress carrying over to the full game. It also includes the first half of Toy Box, though progress from that portion will not carry over.
With Kingdom Hearts IV still in development, Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] arrives at an ideal time for longtime fans who want to revisit the saga and newcomers who want to understand the story before the next major chapter begins. The October 8, 2026 release gives players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and eventually PC a more accessible way to experience the magic, action, Disney worlds, and emotional storytelling that have defined Kingdom Hearts for more than two decades.
