Seiko has quietly refreshed its Singapore lineup with two newly listed King Seiko Vanac automatic watches, and both models are already showing extremely limited local availability. The pair brings back the bold, angular personality that made vintage King Seiko designs so recognizable, but updates the formula with modern materials, sapphire crystal, and a high-end in-house movement.
The first option is the King Seiko Vanac SLA095J1, a green-dial model with gold-toned hands and applied hour markers. It comes in a sharply faceted stainless steel case that measures 41.0 mm across and 14.3 mm thick, with 100 meters of water resistance. A box-shaped sapphire crystal covers the dial, and the watch is delivered on a black leather strap for a dressy, contrast-heavy look.
Inside is Seiko’s calibre 8L45 automatic movement, offering an approximate 72-hour power reserve. Seiko lists its accuracy at +10 to –5 seconds per day under normal conditions, and the watch also supports manual winding. Flip it over and you’ll find a see-through caseback, a detail many collectors appreciate when a watch is powered by a premium mechanical calibre.
Joining it is the King Seiko Vanac SLA093J1, which shares the same case, movement, and core specifications, but swaps in a brown dial and a matching brown leather strap. The display stays clean and classic with a time-and-date layout, including a date window at 3 o’clock and luminous hour and minute hands for easier reading in low light. Like the green version, it’s built around the same angular case geometry and retro-inspired dial cues that signal “King Seiko” at a glance.
Pricing is identical for both models in Singapore: SG$4,578 (around $3,559) each. With both watches listed as in stock locally but in very limited quantities, anyone considering a modern King Seiko Vanac with the 8L45 movement may want to act sooner rather than later.
