JBL Pulse 6 Pre-Orders Open: A Bluetooth Speaker That Also Works as a Bedside Lamp
JBL has opened pre-orders for the Pulse 6, its latest portable Bluetooth speaker designed to deliver powerful sound and eye-catching ambient lighting in one compact device. First announced earlier this month, the JBL Pulse 6 is now available to order in the United States and China, with shipping in the US scheduled to begin on September 6, 2026.
In the US, the JBL Pulse 6 is priced at $329.95. Interestingly, the speaker costs CNY 2,499 in China, which converts to roughly $372, making the US price slightly lower. JBL says customers who place a pre-order will be charged immediately, but they can cancel before September 6, 2026, for a full refund. Availability and pricing for the UK and Europe have not yet been announced.
The JBL Pulse 6 is more than just a Bluetooth speaker. It combines a 40W sound system with a built-in light show, giving users both room-filling audio and customizable visual effects. The speaker features a 30W woofer and a 10W tweeter, aiming to deliver deeper bass, clear vocals, and balanced highs for music, podcasts, and casual listening.

Through the JBL One app, users can adjust the brightness and color temperature of the lamp mode. The same app also allows customization of the equalizer, giving listeners more control over bass, mids, and treble.
Another useful feature is Sunset Mode. With this mode, users can set a playback timer for up to 60 minutes. As the timer comes to an end, the light gradually dims and fades out while the audio stops, making it ideal for winding down before sleep.
The JBL Pulse 6 is built for outdoor and everyday use, thanks to its IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating. That means it should be able to handle poolside use, beach trips, dust, splashes, and brief immersion in water, making it a strong option for users who want a durable portable speaker.
Battery life is rated at up to 12 hours on a single charge. The speaker packs a 4,722mAh battery and takes around 4.5 hours to fully recharge when using a 15W charger.
