itel has expanded its affordable 5G smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the itel City 300 5G, a budget-focused handset that combines a modern design, high-refresh-rate display, and 5G connectivity at an accessible price point.
One of the biggest talking points of the itel City 300 5G is its rear design. The phone features a horizontal pill-shaped camera bar, giving it a premium-looking appearance that stands out in the entry-level 5G segment. The rear camera setup includes a 13 MP main sensor paired with an LED flash, while the front houses an 8 MP camera for selfies, video calls, and social media use.
Under the hood, the itel City 300 5G is powered by the Unisoc T8200 octa-core processor. The base model comes with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The phone also supports up to 8 GB of virtual RAM, which is designed to improve multitasking by using a portion of storage as additional memory.
On the software side, the smartphone runs Android 16 Go Edition out of the box. This lightweight version of Android is built for entry-level devices and aims to deliver smoother performance with optimized apps and reduced system load. However, the company has not yet shared details about future software updates or security patch support.
The itel City 300 5G features a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. A key highlight is its 120 Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling, animations, and everyday navigation feel smoother compared to standard 60 Hz panels commonly found in this price range.
Battery life is handled by a 5,000 mAh battery, which should be enough for a full day of regular use, including browsing, calling, messaging, video streaming, and social media. Charging is limited to 10 W wired charging, which may feel basic compared to faster-charging rivals, but it helps keep the phone positioned in the affordable 5G category.
For connectivity, the itel City 300 5G supports 10 5G bands along with NRCA technology, which should help improve network compatibility and performance where supported. The phone also includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a single speaker.
The itel City 300 5G price in India is set at ₹14,999 for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant. A higher-end 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage model has also been announced, though its price has not yet been revealed.
Buyers can choose from three color options: Dark Ruby, Mist Beige, and Bold Indigo. The smartphone is available through offline retail stores across India. itel says it has a wide retail presence in the country, covering more than 130,000 outlets along with over 1,000 service centers.
With its 5G support, 120 Hz display, large battery, and stylish camera-bar design, the itel City 300 5G aims to attract buyers looking for an affordable 5G smartphone in India without compromising on essential modern features.
