iQOO Pad Ultra debuts as a compact OLED gaming tablet with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
iQOO has introduced the Pad Ultra in China, positioning it as a high-end gaming tablet built for players who want flagship performance in a compact form factor. The device arrives with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, making it one of the first tablets to feature the next-generation premium chipset.
Designed to compete in the growing compact gaming tablet market, the iQOO Pad Ultra combines powerful hardware, an advanced cooling system, a fast OLED display, and gaming-focused accessories. It is clearly aimed at users who want console-style gaming performance without carrying a large tablet.
One of the biggest highlights is the tablet’s active cooling system. iQOO has paired the flagship Snapdragon chip with an extra-large 0.94 CFM fan and a 23,253 mm² heat dissipation area. This setup is designed to keep performance stable during long gaming sessions, reducing thermal throttling when running demanding titles.
The front of the iQOO Pad Ultra features an 8.8-inch OLED display, making it compact enough for handheld gaming while still offering an immersive viewing experience. The screen supports a 165Hz refresh rate, which should make fast-paced games feel smoother and more responsive. It also offers up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and HDR10+ support, giving the tablet strong appeal for both gaming and media streaming.
Despite its gaming hardware, the iQOO Pad Ultra has a slim and lightweight body. The company says the tablet measures just 5.74mm thick and weighs 298 grams. That makes it easier to hold for longer periods, especially when paired with a controller accessory.
Battery life is another major selling point. The tablet packs a 9,020mAh battery, with iQOO claiming up to 25 hours of online video playback. It also supports 66W fast charging, helping users get back into games or entertainment faster after the battery runs low.
For gaming, iQOO has added several dedicated enhancements. The Pad Ultra includes a Q4 chipset designed to improve gaming performance, along with a Wi-Fi enhancement chip for more stable wireless connectivity. The tablet also features RGB lighting on the back, giving it a more recognizable gaming look.
The device comes with a PC game emulator pre-installed, continuing a trend seen in recent gaming tablets. iQOO is also offering gaming accessories, including a telescopic controller that turns the tablet into a handheld-style gaming device.
In terms of memory and storage, the iQOO Pad Ultra is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The entry-level model includes 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at CNY 6,499, which is roughly $968. The top-end version costs CNY 8,999, or around $1,341.
At the moment, iQOO has only confirmed availability in China. However, the company is expected to bring the Pad Ultra to more markets later, possibly alongside its next flagship smartphone lineup.
With its compact OLED display, powerful Snapdragon processor, active cooling, large battery, and gaming-focused accessories, the iQOO Pad Ultra looks like one of the most ambitious Android gaming tablets yet.
